Cooperation between Mediate and the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University: Science and tradition in one

A significant combination of traditional medicine and scientific knowledge is the cooperation between Mediate s.r.o. and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University (FAF UK) in Hradec Králové. This project brought to the market unique herbal mixtures that combine long-standing knowledge of medicinal plants with the principles of evidence-based medicine.

Introducing new products

The first mixtures from this collaboration were launched on the market in September 2024. These products are aimed at supporting health in various areas, such as the respiratory tract, urinary tract, sleep and relaxation, or normalizing blood sugar. Also unique is the version of the mixture for children, where the meadowsweet was replaced with linden and elderflower for the safety of younger users.

A team of experts led by Professor Lucie Cahlíková from the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany of the FAF UK participated in the creation of the formulas. This team includes the following experts:

Each blend has been carefully designed to contain only herbs with proven effects and minimal risk of side effects.

Science accessible to the general public

The loose herbal blends are not only the result of scientific research, but also practical testing. Over 300 volunteers tested their effects during courses focused on medicinal plants. The blends are designed to be completely safe for home use, and their composition reflects the availability of plants in the Czech environment.

Long-term plans and sustainability

The cooperation between Mediate and FAF UK is not limited to current products. From March 2025, additional loose blends focused on menopause, immunity and digestion will be launched on the market. These blends will also be available in the form of portioned teas. In addition, the Respiratory tract - junior mixture will be available in BIO quality, adapted to the age of users.

The Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University, which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year, has long been a recognized center for education and scientific research.
